5 Things that You Might be Surprised to find in your Law School Textbook

1. The good-old "slipped on a banana peel" situation
1. If you are like me, you thought that this was something from the three stooges that did not happen in real life. Wrong! Apparently, people slip on greasy black banana peels so often that three of such cases made it into our curriculum last semester. Watch where you are tossing those discarded peels, folks.
2. It's Haunted!
1. Do not try and sell your haunted house to an unsuspecting buyer, whatever you do. If you know you have ghosts on your hands, you are required to inform potential buyers of this potential deal breaker or risk breach of contract.
3. What is chicken?
1. If you ever want to enter a contract to sell chickens, be sure to clarify which chickens you're talking about. A fiasco may occur if stewing chickens are sent instead of broiling chickens. This tends to be true for other items with potentially ambiguous meanings as well.
4. Spontaneously Combusting Hay
1. Did you know that hay can spontaneously combust if it is is haphazardly stacked? For all you people with hay stacks out there, beware. Your lazy hay stacking could result in liability!
5. Spring-Loaded
1. For all you people out there just trying to protect your uninhabited houses and barns, unfortunately, you can't set up any spring loaded guns aimed at potential intruders. Might come as a surprise, but the preferred option is to pursue a legal remedy.
