- Laws against gambling-



In California, gambling contracts are not recognized as real contracts and are therefore unenforceable. This also applies to loans made for one to continue gambling. This means that if one were to make a simple sports bet and win/lose; the winning side would have no right to their money. The purpose of this law is to deter people from illegal activity, HOWEVER, with the Patriots only favored by seven points this week; it seems somewhat erroneous that I can’t put money on this game and be assured that I will be paid afterwards.
